How it's made

Shoulder
Set-in, dropped shoulder, 4 cm drop — 4-thread overlock + 0.6 cm twin-needle topstitch
Neck
Two-ply woven twill fold-over collar, fused outer ply, set into the neckline with a 1.2 cm twill tape · rib height: 1 cm · topstitch: Edge-stitch 0.2 cm around three sides of the collar
Closure
Three-button half placket, 18 cm from HPS · hardware: Three 20 L rubber buttons, tonal. Rubber not horn or metal — the garment's whole origin is a button that will not cut a face
Placket
Self-fabric placket 4 cm finished, both plies fused, box bar-tack across the bottom of the placket
Sleeve hem
2.5 cm self-fabric cuff band, 2.5 cm finished, bagged out
Body hem
2 cm 2 cm turned-up hem, twin-needle coverstitch. Straight, with a 4 cm side-seam vent bar-tacked at the top
Side seams
4-thread overlock, 4 cm vent at the hem
Stripe
repeat: 7 cm · placement: Stripe repeat starts at the HPS so the shoulder seam lands mid-stripe on both panels; match stripes across the side seam within 0.3 cm · sleeve: Sleeves cut on the same repeat and matched to the body at the armhole notch
Stitch density spi
12 stitches per inch

Trims & notes

• 20 L rubber buttons x3 (+2 spare per garment)
• Light woven fusible (collar outer, placket)
• 1.2 cm twill neck tape (~60 cm)
• Woven label (inside back neck)
• Care label (side seam)
• Say on the pack that the stripe is yarn-dyed. If the factory quotes a printed stripe to hit the price, the print cracks along the shoulder and armhole seams within a season, and it is the most visible failure this garment has.
• Stripe matching is a cutting cost, not a sewing one. Give the repeat (7 cm) and a tolerance (0.3 cm across the side seam) or the quote will assume no matching and the sample will arrive stepped.
• Fuse the collar outer ply only. Both plies fused gives a collar that stands like card and will not roll, which is the opposite of the garment.
• The placket bar-tack is structural. It takes the whole load when the shirt is pulled over the head — a plain backstitch there splits the jersey.
• Rubber buttons are a sourcing item with their own lead time, often 3-4 weeks. Order them before the sample, not after.
• The 4 cm side vent keeps a 62 cm chest from reading as a sack when worn. Do not let it be dropped as a simplification.
